About

The House of Galleries is Frankfurt's annual kick-off for contemporary art. From 22 to 25 January 2026, over 40 leading galleries from Frankfurt, Germany and Europe will once again gather on floors 42 to 44 of the TRIANON - a 186-metre-high high-rise building in Frankfurt's banking district. The House of Galleries is a concept developed with Frankfurt galleries.

One Room - One Artist

Where possible, each gallery will present a solo exhibition in its own space. The format follows the principle of one room – one artist. A second characteristic feature is the guest gallery model: Frankfurt galleries invite partner galleries from their network outside the city. This creates an exceptionally broad panorama of current positions that extends far beyond the region.

A high-rise building as an art space

The former executive suites of TRIANON offer a setting that is unparalleled in Germany: prestigious rooms, sweeping views, and unpolished architecture that provides both a stage and context for art. The premiere in 2025 already demonstrated the powerful impact of this location; all program days were sold out before the opening. It was also a success for the galleries: on average, each gallery sold six works at the first edition, around half of them to new customers.

What's new in 2026

The second edition of the House of Galleries is growing in several dimensions: It extends over three floors instead of two, comprises three program days instead of two and presents over 40 galleries. At the same time, it will deepen the exchange of content through art market talks, guided tours and exclusive formats such as Opening Night and Collectors Dinner. In this way, the House of Galleries is responding to the high demand of the premiere and is consistently developing into a relevant industry meeting point for galleries, collectors, institutions and an art-loving public.

The board

The curatorial and content quality of the format is ensured by a three-member board that has accompanied the House of Galleries since its inception. With Dr. Sebastian Baden (Director of the SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE Frankfurt), Prof. Dr. Brigitte Franzen (President of the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach) and Silke Hohmann (author and editor at Monopol magazine), the board brings together expertise from museums, universities and art journalism. The board decides on new participations, advises on programmatic priorities and acts as a sparring partner for the further development of the format.

  • Frankfurt is back on the art fair map.

    - Stefan Kobel, art journalist

  • There hasn't been an art fair in Frankfurt for 18 years. But on Friday evening, the "House of Galleries" opens for a weekend in the vacant executive floors of the Trianon tower. The aim is to attract new visitors with a bar and a view of the skyline.

  • The House of Galleries format appears to be a fitting response to the trade fair fatigue that has spread among many galleries.

    - Monopol Magazine, January 21, 2025

  • Where there is darkness, there are also rays of hope. The galleries in Frankfurt are aiming high and have organized a new exhibition format in the Trianon high-rise in the heart of the city.

  • This exhibition is already one of the absolute highlights of the Frankfurt art year, although January is not even over yet [...].

    - Frankfurter Rundschau, January 25, 2025

  • The Frankfurt galleries are aiming high - and are kicking off the year by exhibiting in a skyscraper in the Main metropolis.
