Jean-Claude Maier is delighted to present a duo show to mark the start of the anniversary season. With "First Light Forever", Theo Altenberg has created a new, energetic series of abstract paintings for the gallery's wonderful old building space. At the same time, the sculptural installation "Hype Machine" by Faina Yunusova counteracts the private character of the gallery. The installation impresses with its sophisticated construction, the integration of canvases and the multi-layered conceptual research that preceded its creation. In 2017, the gallery rediscovered the artist Theo Altenberg and his multi-layered work. The painter's oeuvre was presented to a wider audience for the first time in a solo exhibition in Frankfurt. Faina Yunusova had her first solo exhibition at the beginning of 2023. The artist questions constructs of identity and tradition, from which she creates exciting hybrid forms.
