TOM CHRISTOPHER
27.11.2025 - 15.01.2026
I'M GOING TO PAINT LIKE IT'S 1999
Galerie Barbara von Stechow
Tom Christopher captures the urban pulse of New York. His works are more than just views of the city, they are energetic snapshots between speed, noise and light. Amidst the visual hustle and bustle, he creates portraits of a city that never stands still. Christopher condenses observation and emotion into a painterly rhythm that immediately draws the viewer in. A homage to life in the city that never sleeps.
Tom Christopher, born in Hollywood in 1952, studied painting at Sonoma State University and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. After working for Disney and NBC, he moved to New York City in 1981, where he worked for major media outlets such as the New York Times and CBS. In the 1990s, he made a name for himself internationally with his expressive cityscapes and large-format murals. Today, Christopher is represented worldwide with Exhibitions and art projects, including works for museums, public spaces and design collaborations with brands such as Absolut Vodka and Ikepod.
