Against a spectacular backdrop, experts from the worlds of art, galleries, and collections will discuss the future of Frankfurt as an art location, technological upheavals, and global market trends.

  • Book presentation: Frankfurt as a city of art and cultural hub

    Moderated discussion and reading with author Kenneth Hujer about his new book "All das passierte in diesem irrsinnigen Milieu Frankfurt" (All That Happened in That Insane Environment Called Frankfurt). The book is a cartographic exploration of Frankfurt that brings the cultural and social upheavals of the 1960s to 1980s to life as living city history through eleven in-depth conversations with influential personalities.

  • Kasper König: A to Z. A collage of life

    This book presentation is dedicated to one of the most influential exhibition organizers of recent decades. Together with other representatives of his generation, Kasper König shaped a practice of art education that Exhibitions not from academic teaching, but from direct experience with artists, their works, studios, and Exhibitions . Frankfurt played a central role in this work. As the long-standing rector of the Städelschule, König had a lasting influence on generations of artists and on the relationship between art, institutions, and the public in the city. The book is not a classic biography. It unfolds as a collage of life based on a glossary of terms, encounters, projects, and events compiled by Kasper König himself. The volume is presented by Andreas Prinzing, who classifies the origin, structure, and significance of the contributions from A to Z.

  • Creating a collage: Art and the city

    The city has always been the starting point, sounding board, and source of inspiration for artistic production – as a motif, projection surface, and counter-image. At the same time, there is the practical question of urban culture in the broadest sense and the creative environment that shapes it. Against the backdrop of Frankfurt Rhine-Main as World Design Capital, the panel will discuss whether and how artistic and creative perspectives, cultural institutions, and urban development intersect, and what opportunities this presents for the regional ecosystem.
