Michael Schmidtmann
Michael Schmidtmann (born in Wiesbaden in 1996) lives and works in Düsseldorf. From 2017 to 2021, he studied fine art at the Offenbach University of Art and Design under Heiner Blum and Mike Bouchet. He then continued his studies from 2021 to 2025 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Peter Piller and Gregor Schneider.
His works have Exhibitions in numerous Exhibitions . In 2025, he was represented in the exhibition "Kooperation" at Galerie Nizza in Berlin, as well as in "Information," a joint presentation with Christian Jankowski, also at Galerie Nizza. In 2024, Galerie Kai Erdmann in Berlin showed his exhibition "Wer wird denn gleich in die Luft gehen?" (Who's going to blow their top?).
In 2023, Schmidtmann received the Hoepffner Prize and exhibited at the Hofheim City Museum under the title "In anderem Licht" (In a Different Light). Prior to that, his works were shown in 2022 at the "Große Ausstellung" (Grand Exhibition) at Kennert in Düsseldorf, at "Karina" in the Lycra Raum in Hamburg, and at "Mein Handy im See" (My Cell Phone in the Lake) at Kanister, Hamburg, among other venues.
In 2021, he presented the "Kleine Ausstellung" (Small Exhibition) at Geishornstraße 9 in Offenbach. In 2020, he showed several works at the Offspace Magma Maria in Offenbach, including "Half Tetra Picnic" and "Rough House," as well as the exhibition "Wir nicht" (Not Us) at Offenbach Central Station.
