Ralph Fleck

Born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1951, he studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe from 1973 to 1978. While still a student, he received the "Landschaft heute" (Landscape Today) sponsorship award from Sparkasse Karlsruhe in 1977. A year later, he was awarded the German Culture Promotion Prize by the Cultural Circle of the Federation of German Industries (BDI).

In 1981, he received the Rome Prize and a scholarship from the German Academy Rome Villa Massimo, which included a stay there in 1984/85. In 2003, he was appointed professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg.

Today, he lives in Freiburg and works in Kirchzarten and Sóller on Mallorca.
