Anna Nero

The paintings of Anna Nero (born in 1988; lives and works in Berlin and Frankfurt am Main) are bursting with energy. Her pictures masterfully draw on the tradition of geometric abstraction. They are composed of sharp contrasts, bright colors, and allusive forms. At the same time, the colorfulness and playfulness of her works are reminiscent of Pop Art. Their appeal lies in the tension between order and disorder. Nero constructs razor-sharp three-dimensional spaces, only to dissolve them again in another place, thus misleading the viewer with a wink.
