The art collective at MIXER is showing the third and final part of a series dedicated to Caspar David Friedrich. In a time of change brought about by new digital developments, links to Romanticism are scrutinized. This time, the focus is on friendship and solidarity. It was essential and almost a prerequisite for the emergence of German Romanticism.

The different positions in the show approach the theme in a variety of ways: Lea Wittich's video and textile art imagines a kind of post-apocalyptic commune in deep solidarity. Mireille Jautz paints the best friend who appeared to her in a dream in magnificent colors. In Volkmar Hoppe's technically participative work "Cicada's Song", letters can be brought to life via text message. Likewise, Paul Hirsch's house altars invite visitors to participate in deciphering their augmented meanings hidden in the QR code.

Two works of art address the modern way of communicating on social media: Georg Schrabeck's collages show communicative empty words and their helplessness. Peter Zuppa and Gudrun Aßmann subvert habits with their technically reactive "The Artwork Likes You".
