ARTE GIANI
Stefan F. Konrad, an artist from Aschaffenburg born in 1964, studied fine art painting at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts under Prof. Jürgen Reipka. The use of his works on various book covers has helped spread awareness of his artistic work. The artist Exhibitions his diverse body of work in his numerous Exhibitions .
We have already featured the versatile Aschaffenburg-based artist Stefan F. Konrad in our gallery on several occasions. Now it’s that time again: In the exhibition “Sparsame Brilliance,” Stefan F. Konrad brings together various groups of his works and creates connections between them. What sounds minimalist in the title is, in its execution, always aptly and rhythmically conceived—and indeed “brilliant.” His small, partly already iconic bronze figures stand in the space and stride forward—they are striving toward a goal! In doing so, the artist succeeds in giving these idealized figures individual character and imbuing them with emotional depth. These sculptural works are underpinned and surrounded by works in acrylic on canvas featuring rich color contrasts. This is a group of strongly vertically oriented works that have long served as a companion to the bronzes. In addition, there is a series of meditative canvases to discover, which captivate with their luminosity and wonderful order. A multitude of ways to view these works unfolds before us, based on the simple fundamental shapes of the triangle and the square—abstract compositions that Stefan F. Konrad makes resonate in an almost musical way.
