Felicithas Arndt, Joanna Skurska, and Paul Mathey
March 12, 2026 – April 17, 2026
Color and Natural Bodies
Gallery Barbara von Stechow
Joanna Skurska (born 1972, Gdańsk) combines painting and sculptural form to create poetic, nature-inspired works. Her delicate imagery and objects draw on motifs such as plants, growth, and transformation, moving between abstraction and organic impression. With a keen sense of material and space, she creates works of quiet intensity and great sensitivity.
Felicithas Arndt (*1992, Offenbach am Main) works at the intersection of art, nature, and material. Her organic-looking ceramics and porcelain works address the relationship between humans and nature and are inspired by Chinese aesthetics and natural growth processes. In her sculptural forms, artistic gesture and natural structure merge into sensitive, contemporary positions.
Paul Mathey (born 1950, Merzig/Saar) is known for his concentrated still lifes, in which everyday objects take center stage in a calm, precise painting style. Through reduction and clear staging, he creates a timeless, contemplative visual language. His works invite an intense perception of the seemingly ordinary and address silence, presence, and transience.
We cordially invite you to the opening reception on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. at our gallery. The artists will be present on the opening night.
