Dear friends of DIE GALERIE,
This summer, we invite you to join us in diving into the depths of explosive landscapes of color. With the exhibition Imagination - Remembered Landscapes , we are presentingManfred Fuchs’ expressive color compositions for the first time.
ManfredFuchs is known as a successful entrepreneur and collector, but his passion goes far beyond that: as a dedicated painter, he has been engaged in art since his youth and is highly creative in painting, drawing, and sculpture.
The works in our exhibition demonstrate a close study of his role models, such as Sam Francis, Jackson Pollock, and Karel Appel, yet still reveal an unmistakable signature style. Eager to experiment, the artist uses not only canvas but also work clothes, painter’s drop cloths, and everyday objects. Using acrylic, lacquer, and spray paint, he creates abstract compositions through quick brushstrokes, gradients, and drippings that generate depth and space solely through color. His décollages and collages are also impressive: inspired by artists of the 1950s and 1960s, he uses torn layers of posters from advertising columns as visual elements. With their typographic structures, these works appear more graphic and striking, yet they also leave room for the viewer’s own interpretations.
A portion of the proceeds from the exhibition will benefit the Heidelberg Sculpture Park.
