Photos from 30 years
We went to one archive or another to create an illustrated retrospective of 30 years of the start of the season. But we didn't really find what we were looking for. So it was a stroke of luck that the book Moment Mal! by photographer Wolfgang Günzel fell into our hands. He has been photographing the Frankfurt art scene, which is at home in offspaces, galleries and museums, for 35 years, creating a unique and impressive contemporary document. It shows how art can achieve great things in Frankfurt, filling buildings and streets and bringing people together in exciting ways time and time again. We asked Günzel to send us a selection of gallery shots, which we naturally don't want to withhold from you. However, you can only find all the great moments from over 30 years in the 368-page paperback that Günzel has published with Barbara Rademacher. Another piece of gallery history awaits you this weekend, when the season opener celebrates its anniversary. Celebrate with us! It starts this Friday at 6 pm.
