Review of the House of Galleries 2026
German light artist Jacqueline Hen illuminated the banquet hall on the 44th floor with her work "Die Sonne" (The Sun).
The innovative art format "House of Galleries" has drawn a positive conclusion after its second edition at TRIANON. With over 5,000 visitors and many sales, the event has consolidated its position as a driving force for the German art market at the start of the year.
High visitor response and new target groups
Around 5,000 art lovers took advantage of the four-day program to discover the solo exhibitions of the 43 galleries on floors 42 to 44 of the TRIANON high-rise building and purchase works of art. Visitors appreciated the focus on one artistic position per gallery, as it offered clarity and at the same time the opportunity to get to know the work of an artist more comprehensively.
The concept of participating Frankfurt galleries each inviting a new partner gallery from outside the city helps ensure that guests can always discover new galleries and artistic positions. The presence of a young generation of collectors was particularly highlighted: many visitors in the 30 to 40 age group emphasized the potential for young collectors. In addition, the format attracted a gratifyingly high level of interest from institutional visitors.
Economic success and precision of content
Most of the participating galleries reported positive sales figures and new contacts. Heike Tosun from the Berlin gallery Soy Capitán, for example, said: "We found House of Galleries to be unusually focused. An open audience, lots of exchange, and a very welcoming atmosphere. It was particularly valuable for us to gain new collections and establish new connections."
The concept also proved fruitful for young artists. Aileen Treusch from the Frankfurt Galerie 3AP explains: "As a young gallery, we focus on precision of content rather than pure presence. It was particularly exciting for us to see how our solo presentation, in conjunction with the contributions of other galleries, generated discussions, new contacts, and sales. The cooperative exchange on site also reinforced this."
Philipp Fürhofer presented his three-dimensional works made of glass, mirrors, light, and painting at the House of Galleries, which function both as light boxes and paintings.
A surprisingly harmonious and atmospheric format that attracted experienced collectors and new art enthusiasts alike. With a sales rate of two-thirds, the House of Galleries was also very satisfactory for us commercially. How wonderful that the courage to rethink the 'fair' format has paid off.
A format with a future
Attractive conditions were a key factor in the event's success: stand fees were lower than those for conventional trade fair formats, which contributed significantly to the high level of acceptance. 78% of galleries stated that the "House of Galleries" was worthwhile from a business perspective; 95% want to participate again in the future.
Henning Fiebach from fiebach, minninger in Cologne sums it up: "The House of Galleries has already firmly established itself with just its second edition. With the addition of the third floor at TRIANON, it has now found its ideal size. The excellent organization, the large number of visitors, and their interest give us hope that it will continue at this wonderful location."
The Frankfurt Art Experience will now continue with Saisonstart traditional Saisonstart Frankfurt galleries, which will take place from September 4 to 6, 2026.
