Frank Brechter
Frank Brechter (born in Heilbronn in 1981) is a German artist who has been working freelance in Frankfurt am Main since 2008. After studying graphic design at the Lazi Academy in Stuttgart (2001–2005), he initially devoted himself to conservation framing in Frankfurt (2005–2008) before working in exhibition coordination at the Voges Gallery from 2008 to 2009. Today, his artistic practice encompasses set design, painting, and sculpture. In 2014, Brechter co-founded the artist group 157ARTISTS, with which he experimented with new collaborative forms of work and presentation.
His work has been presented in several solo exhibitions, including Darb Barbara? (2022) and Spritzzz! (2020) at Philipp Pflug Contemporary in Frankfurt am Main. Brechter has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Clear History (Perrotin, Paris, 2025), PPC AM MAIN (Villa Bonn, Frankfurt, 2025), La Grande Bouffe (Valencia, 2023), Friends with benefits (Frankfurt, 2023), Digital Dadaism (Frankfurt, 2021), and Alles im Wunderland (Wiesbaden, 2020).
