In her new solo exhibition, “New Beautiful World,” Frankfurt-based artist Barbara Feuerbach explores a spirit of optimism and a world in flux. She sees a great mystery in everything she experiences and feels. What does this New Beautiful World look like? The works depict fairy tales and legends, as well as comics and pop culture. We see Mickey Mouse and angels, jesters and Mary Poppins, and numerous other figures. These are surreal, fascinating worlds that captivate the viewer. As a counterpart to this is the series “Renaissance Portraits” of young people. Feuerbach combines the characteristics of portrait painting from that era with her typically bold painting style. – The small formats invite us to look closer and discover the new and the beautiful. The works captivate with Barbara Feuerbach’s characteristic color palette, her attention to detail, and the opulence of her painting materials.
