Rachel von Morgenstern

In her work, Rachel von Morgenstern plays with the perception of space by using light and the transparency of the fabric to explore color in a spatial context and open up a view into the interior of the painting. Through surface, form, and line, additional tensions are created within the compositions, which find their support and structure in the stability of the heavy stretcher frame.
“PENUMBRA” is Rachel von Morgenstern’s seventh solo exhibition at the FILIALE. She studied at the HfG Offenbach under Gunter Reski and Adam Jankowski and completed her studies in 2015 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe under Franz Ackermann.
