David FeBland & Daniel Wagenblast
Barbara von Stechow Gallery
In the exhibition *Metropolis & Welt Retten*, a dynamic dialogue unfolds between the artists David FeBland and Daniel Wagenblast, spanning the spectrum from urban reality to a visionary vision of saving the world.
David FeBland (b. 1949, London) focuses his attention on the vibrant life of major cities. His works tell stories of people, urban spaces, and the multifaceted encounters that shape modern city life. With a keen eye for the everyday, he captures the dynamism, diversity, and—at the same time—the contradictions of our urban world.
Daniel Wagenblast engages with the present through a distinctive, often humorous visual language. His figures and sculptures offer a playful exploration of human behavior, social roles, and the big questions of our time. Straddling the line between irony and reflection, his works bring a smile to the viewer’s face while also inviting them to pause and reflect.
Together, the two artists bridge the gap between the concrete urban environment and the question of how we want to shape and preserve our world. In doing so, they bring together observation and imagination, a critical eye, and a sense of optimism. The exhibition combines different artistic styles to create a vibrant panorama of our present.
The exhibition is an invitation to view the world from new perspectives: with curiosity about urban life, a sense of the absurd, and the realization that major changes often begin with a fresh look at the little things.
