HIROKO Nakajima's works unite opposites: her gestural painting style is energetic, powerful and yet with a floating lightness and poetry. Rooted in the Japanese tradition of calligraphy and at the same time transcending it, the pictures create abstract signs that defy the norms of convention in order to follow their own rules.
