New constellations, new dynamics: hobnob in Frankfurt

After successful Exhibitions in Berlin, Galerie Hübner + Hübner continues the hobnob series in Frankfurt - and continues it under different conditions. Six artists meet here in a new setting that creates space for condensation, friction and unexpected connections.

hobnob, a colloquial English expression for 'meeting, exchanging ideas, hanging out together', becomes the programmatic title. The exhibition makes it possible to experience how artistic positions meet: they overlap, contradict and comment on each other, opening up a network of references that opens up new perspectives.

A broad spectrum is on display: from classical painting to expansive, installative formats. The works do not exist side by side, but relate to each other visually, spatially and conceptually.

"The strength of hobnob lies in the encounter: independence and dialog meet here. This creates an energy that goes beyond the individual work," say Astrid and Ernst Hübner.

From shop window space to gallery space

While the Berlin series took place in the Kunstraum Fuge, a shop window in a public space, the Frankfurt gallery allows for a different experiment: more space for spatial dynamics, juxtapositions and contrasts.
In this way, hobnob Frankfurt Edition shows the further development of an exhibition that understands encounter as an artistic practice - not as a finished result, but as a process that unfolds in space.
