Resonances - Risonanze
February 6, 2026 – March 13, 2026
: Artists from the
Gallery, Frankfurt’s Westend
Resonance describes an oscillation, a response, and the transmission of impulses across time, space, and material. In the exhibition of the same name at Frankfurt’s Westend , this concept serves as the guiding theme for a multifaceted encounter with contemporary works in painting, drawing, and sculpture.
The exhibition “Resonances,” which opens on February 6, marks the start of the anniversary year: 60 years of contemporary art in the German-Italian context. Since 1966, Frankfurt’s Westend has been showcasing artists from Italy or with ties to Italy. The works on display represent current artistic positions that continue to write the gallery’s history, re-exploring, shifting, and breaking down historical impulses while translating them into contemporary questions: painting, drawing, and sculpture as a living space of resonance.
The different media of canvas, paper, silk, fabric, acrylic glass, and plastic act as resonating bodies for color, line, material, and space. New works by Giovanni Cerri, Leonardo Gambini, Mattia Noal, Eliana Petrizzi, Manuela Toselli, and
, among many others, will be on display. The juxtaposition of the works creates visual tensions, similarities, and dialogues between generations, attitudes, and formal approaches.
Last but not least, the concept of resonance also refers to the audience. Meaning arises in perception, in inner resonance, in the individual reading of the works. The works demand active viewing and open up spaces for personal associations.
Resonances thus refers both backward and forward: to the roots and to the continuing influence of artistic traditions. The exhibition reveals how art remains in flux—in dialogue with its history, its present, and those who encounter it.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and by appointment
Matinee in the gallery: February 28, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
