Die Galerie Seinecke is delighted to present Theresa Möller’s third solo Saisonstart to Saisonstart . Titled “Fragmental Fields,” the exhibition invites visitors to immerse themselves in the artist’s latest painterly worlds.
The evocative landscape paintings by Theresa Möller (b. 1988; lives and works in Bremen) transport the viewer to remote places. Anyone who looks at her paintings embarks on a journey. Yet these works do not depict specific scenes; rather, they are painterly, imaginary landscapes.
However, Möller’s paintings are not landscape paintings in the classical sense. One often searches in vain for a view into the distance. Here, the gaze does not wander over vast fields or spectacular mountain ranges. Rather, the eye is quickly drawn into a profusion of plant forms. The deeper one’s gaze penetrates into the interior of the painting, the denser and more tangled it becomes. Although Theresa Möller’s paintings show a great deal, they reveal very little. The “Fragmental Fields” thus unfold as multi-layered visual features that both captivate and challenge the eye.
