As part of the Frankfurt Art Experience 2024, EULENGASSE presents the EUROPEAN CITIES ART NETWORK Tirana/Albania & Frankfurt am Main project. Experience two exhibitions with two openings: "SPECTACULUM" - Solo show Jon Kraja in the exhibition space EULENGASSE and "NO-WHERE, EVERY-WHERE TO GO - Jon Kraja and the young Albanian artists" in RAUM MITTE, Agency of Urban Change. This will be accompanied by a roundtable on "Inner city development and public space - Tirana/Albania and Frankfurt am Main" and an artist talk with Jon Kraja, contemporary painter from Tirana.

"Spectaculum" by Jon Kraja shows paintings from the year 2024 depicting soccer scenes with contrasting colors and gestural abstraction. An omnipresent fireball symbolizes the tipping point of the event. The works process Kraja's imagination and memories of game movements, reflect power and fear, and address the precarious and volatile life of humanity. Abstract forms create introspective and mysterious backgrounds, while the goal and ball remain suspended in the artist's space. The exhibition transforms the spectacle of soccer into a visual symphony of movement and memory.
Jon Kraja (1970) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Albania and began his art career in the 1990s after the fall of communism. He developed surprising concepts in stage design as well as in gestural, large-format abstract and figurative painting. Kraja's work is characterized by constant research and experimentation with new materials and media. At the heart of his artistic philosophy is a fascination with the unknown and the transformative power of inanimate objects. His works invite viewers to reflect on the deeper meaning and utility of everyday life, inspiring introspection and evoking a sense of wonder.

"No-where, every-where to go", a joint exhibition by young Albanian artists and Jon Kraja, explores moments of transition and transformation. Each artwork serves as a lens through which the viewer can reflect on the delicate balance between stability and change, personal and social fluctuations, and the impact of important decisions and perspectives. The exhibition invites the viewer to engage with these critical aspects. Through various media and narratives, the exhibition illuminates the complexity of personal and collective nature.
