Worlds Discovered

The exhibition “Found Worlds” brings together works by Kati Jünger in dialogue with works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, and Rolf Hans. A common theme emerges across generations and media: the transformation of reality into a personal visual language.
The exhibition focuses on the ceramic works of Kati Jünger. Drawing on classical vessel forms, the artist creates multi-layered objects whose surfaces are interwoven with memories, found objects, ornaments, and narrative fragments. Figures, animals, floral motifs, and cultural symbols come together to form poetic compositions that oscillate between dream, myth, and lived experience. Her works appear as archives of everyday life. They create spaces where the past is preserved and reimagined in new contexts.
As with Picasso, Matisse, and Chagall, Kati Jünger also creates a world beyond mere representation. All four artists share the freedom to rearrange reality, bring memories to life, and transform familiar forms into surprising narratives. Color, line, form, and material become vehicles for individual experiences and universal stories.
“Found Worlds” invites visitors to experience art as a space for discovery. The works on display offer new perspectives on collecting, remembering, and inventing. They point to the inner landscapes that artists create from the traces of reality. This gives rise to a dialogue between ceramics, painting, and printmaking; between tradition and the present; and between found objects and imaginary worlds.
