Peter Böhnisch — First Contact
In *First Contact*, die Galerie Ruppert die Galerie presents paintings by Peter Böhnisch. Böhnisch (born 1977, lives in Berlin) paints with sand: using synthetic corundum and pigment on MDF, he creates works in which the granular material serves at times as a relief-like base and at other times as a medium—thus bringing together the beauty of the motifs with the roughness of the surface. In enigmatic scenes and portraits, he combines traditional pictorial themes with modern elements, and meaning with humor. Visitors can expect dense, tactile paintings that oscillate between a connection to the earth and a gaze into the distance.
Milica Giacomelli — In Between II
Milica Giacomelli has created the site-specific video installation *In Between II* for die Galerie Ruppert die Galerie : an immersive projection spanning drei , in which analog photography meets digital 3D sculpture. Visitors are immersed in an in-between space—between pure beauty and a critical examination of consumerism. Giacomelli (b. 1977, lives in Frankfurt) is a video and performance artist; among other projects, she was responsible for the architectural mapping at the Frankfurt Opera Ball and shaped the opening of the Frankfurt Book Fair for fifteen years.
