Frankfurt am Main, July 2026 (CC) – TheKimpton Main Frankfurt is further establishing itself as a destination for design and contemporary art: In collaboration with the Frankfurt-based Greulich Gallery, the hotel will present selected works by artist Mison Schreff from September 2 through December 2, 2026. The exhibition will be on display in the hotel lobby, becoming part of the design experience for guests while also offering an accessible art experience for Frankfurt residents and art-loving visitors to the city.
This collaboration comes in the year that Frankfurt RheinMain was named World Design Capital 2026, drawing international attention to design, architecture, and urban transformation. The Kimpton Main Frankfurt embraces this context in its own unique way, creating a momentum that unites design, hospitality, and cultural exchange.
Mison Schreff, born in South Korea in 1998 and now living in Berlin, works in the field of expanded painting. Her practice moves between abstraction and figuration, traditional craft techniques and digital processes, the body, space, and identity. In her work, she explores how architecture, perception, and memory interact and become embedded in physical, spatial, and social structures.
The hotel lobby provides a deliberately chosen setting for this: As a central point of arrival, it serves not only as a reception area but also as a meeting place for guests, locals, and visitors interested in design and culture. Here, Schreff’s works engage in a dialogue with an interior design that blends Bauhaus influences, the history of the former Deutsche Bank site, and a contemporary interpretation of the Main metropolis.
“Our lobby is the first moment guests experience the Kimpton Main Frankfurt—and thus a central part of our identity. Mison Schreff’s work explores themes that also define our hotel: architecture, materials, memory, and the impact of spaces. Together with Galerie Greulich, we are creating an artistic experience that isn’t separate from the hotel experience, but becomes part of it,” says Tako Plate, Interim General Manager.
The exhibition is part of a curated approach to art at the Kimpton Main Frankfurt that extends beyond the permanent collection: In addition to works of art developed specifically for the hotel that draw on local design and architectural history, the public spaces are regularly opened up to showcase changing artistic perspectives. Currently, part of the installation “Mille Miroirs” by French artist Cyril Lancelin is on display in the lobby and at LAZULI Bar & Kitchen.
With Galerie Greulich, the hotel gains a local partner that champions contemporary art and emerging artists. The collaboration is conceived as a dialogue between a renowned Frankfurt gallery and an international lifestyle destination that does not isolate art in a museum-like setting, but rather integrates it into the everyday life of an urban environment.
“Mison Schreff’s works reveal their power where image, body, and space converge. At the Kimpton Main Frankfurt, they step out of the traditional gallery context and into a vibrant architectural setting. It is precisely this shift that interests us: art is not displayed in isolation, but rather encounters people as they arrive, wait, or linger,” explains Andreas Greulich, founder of Galerie Greulich.
To complement the exhibition, the Kimpton Main Frankfurt is also setting a new tone in its MAY Bar. As a result, the installation created by Mison Schreff specifically for the Kimpton Main Frankfurt serves not only as a visual backdrop but also as the starting point for a new chapter in the hotel’s bar and lobby culture.
Mison Schreff’s exhibition at the Kimpton Main Frankfurt will be on view in the hotel lobby from September 2 through December 2, 2026. The exhibition also coincides with the Frankfurt Art Experience and adds an accessible venue outside the traditional gallery space to Frankfurt’s art calendar.
