"Welcome, bienvenue, welcome"

September 2, 2026 – September 20, 2026
, Group Exhibition,
, Lab106

Franziska Kneidl presents an independent artistic work in the LAB106 showcase, deliberately situated at the intersection of interior and public space. By being displayed in the window, the work not only becomes part of the exhibition space but also establishes a relationship with the street, passersby, and the immediate urban environment. The showcase window thus becomes a place of transition: between seeing and passing by, closeness and distance, inside and outside. The interior of LAB106 features works by Lena Grewenig, Andreas Diefenbach, Aldo Freund, and other local artists and designers. On display are images, objects, editions, and design works that engage in an open dialogue with one another. The space is not conceived as a traditional gallery, but rather as a vibrant place where exhibition, design, encounter, and exchange converge—a space in which artistic and applied practices are presented side by side.

To mark Saisonstart 32nd Saisonstart , LAB106 Saisonstart its storefront gallery and interior space for a presentation of local artistic and design works. In the side window of LAB106 on Roßmarkt—known as the “Showcase”—Franziska Kneidl is presenting a solo exhibition that is spatially separated from the other works and bridges the gap between the exhibition space and the urban environment. On view are new sculptures created specifically for this location. Kneidl develops her voluminous figures from a foundation in painting: she paints strips of paper and drapes them into expressive three-dimensional works—similar to her sculpture V. R., which is on permanent display at the Museum of Applied Arts.

Inside, paintings, objects, limited-edition works, and design pieces by Lena Grewenig, Andreas Diefenbach, Aldo Freund, and other artists and designers come together. The exhibition conceives of the space as a vibrant place where art, design, encounters, and exchange converge—open, accessible, and right in the heart of Frankfurt.
